We’re into the beginning of July…and we’re still stuck at home! Now what?!

It’s time to get creative. 

A few weeks ago, we talked about the impact of play on our brain. Let’s talk about the impact of CREATIVITY on our brains! 

Research has found that crafty creativity can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. This is because it releases the neuro chemical in your brain, dopamine, which makes people feel happier and has been referred to as our body’s “natural antidepressant”. Further research found that creative novel experiences however, can activate our reward center of our brain, so getting creative with our loved ones can help to build those relationships! 

So what can creativity look like?

Creating a scavenger hunt for your kids or significant other

Creating a dream board. 

Carving watermelons- like a jack o lanterns, but with a watermelon!

Baking a new recipe.

Creating/painting artwork.


Planning a drive or hike in the mountains.
